Tiger Hill
Tiger Hill emerged as a famous tourist point for its spectacular sunrise view of Mt. Kanchenjunga, Mt. Everest, Kurseong, Teesta river, Mahananda river, Balason river, and Mechi river. The usual crowd of tourists can be seen as early as 5 AM in the morning to witness the glamorizing view of the mountains. Tourists going to Darjeeling for sure have this point as the first location to visit there. 11 km from the town of Darjeeling and can be reached either by jeep or by foot through Chowrasta, Alubari, or Jorebangla and then climbing up the incline to the summit, which takes about 2 hours at an easy pace.
If any visitor wants to see frozen snow in the mountains, then the time between October and December is perfect to go. The time between March and April is the right time to visit Tiger hill Darjeeling because at this time there is no freezing cold, but some snow can still be seen in the mountains.

Batasia Loop
Situated at a distance of 5 km from the main town of Darjeeling, below the Ghoom station is the Batasia Loop, a gigantic railway loop made for tourists. Loop around Batasia War Memorial was created to mainly pay a tribute to the Gorkha soldiers who laid down their lives in the independence war of 1947. The loop is surrounded by mountains giving a scenic view of its surroundings. One can pay a visit to this amazing place during any time of the year, excluding the monsoons. It is not regarded as an appropriate season for enjoying a joyous train ride at Batasia Loop.
Standing on one side of the garden while observing the toy train hotting down the hill with mountains in its background is scenery not to forget. There is also a local market from where tourists can buy souvenirs to carry with of this beautiful place.

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
When in 1953, Mt. Everest was successfully climbed for the first time by Edmund Hillary and sherpa Tenzing Norgay, the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute was built to pay tribute to Tenzing Norgay and a place where he could impart his mountaineering knowledge to those who wanted to pursue mountaineering. Since the time of its establishment, the institute has trained more than 50,000 students who have moved on to become great mountaineers. Out of these students, more than 20,000 belong to countries other than India.
In fact, the popularity of this institute is such that it has become one of the most popular tourist attractions in Darjeeling. One reason for this institute being a popular tourist spot is its picturesque setting. It is surrounded by the splendid peak of Kanchenjunga which alone makes it worth a visit.

Darjeeling Rock Garden
Located 10 km from the main town Darjeeling, Barbotary Rock Garden, or the Rock Garden at the Chunnu Summer falls has become a popular tourist destination in Darjeeling to visit. Landscaped as a multi-level picnic garden with Chunnu Summer falls as the main element, it offers a scenic view of cascading downhill stream over rocks. Done with several plantations and seasonal flowers, it is a place to spend a relaxing time observing nature closely.
The garden remains open for visitors every day from 8 AM to 7 PM, seeing crowds of hundreds daily visiting the spot.

Singalila National Park
In 1992, the forest of Singalila bought by the British government from the Kingdom of Sikkim was converted into a national park which now hosts exotic species of Himalayan flora and fauna. Singalila National Park is located on Singalila Ridge in the Eastern Himalayan region. Sandakphu and Phalut, the two of the highest peaks in West Bengal, are located right inside the park. There are two rivers flowing through the park; River Rammam and River Sirikhola.
A permit is required by both domestic and international travellers to visit the national park which is easily available. The best seasons to visit Singalila National Park are the Spring season (March to May) when the spring is at its full bloom with flora and fauna all around and the Autumn-Winter season (October to December) when peaks are covered in white snow and clear blue sky behind them.

Darjeeling Peace Pagoda and Japanese Temple
Situated at a 10-minute driving distance is the Japanese-style made Temple and the Darjeeling Peace Pagoda. The temple built in 1972 and also known by the name Nipponzan Myohoji Buddhist Temple is accompanied by a peace pagoda that showcases the four different avatars of Lord Buddha. From the top of the Pagoda, you get a panoramic view of the Darjeeling landscape including the Kanchenjunga range.

River Rafting in Teesta
Considered as one of the best activities to be done with family and friends when on a Darjeeling tour, river rafting has attracted many adventure lovers over the period. Teesta River originates from Eastern Himalayan Trek and makes foaming white water, and perhaps some of the best rafting stretches of the world. The long stretch of Teesta River is excellent for rafting for beginners as well as seasoned rafters. The river has more whirling waters that offer a challenge to experienced rafters.
Though exciting, one must not forget to consider timing and the season to be important factors before opting for river rafting. Months between March to May are a good time to enjoy river rafting as the weather is bearable with not being too chilly and the monsoons are later to arrive.

Chowrasta Mall is the heart of Darjeeling city, located on Nehru Road it is a bustling street where the real vibe of Darjeeling can be felt. A flat promenade in the center of the street with decades-old stores lining the side of the streets, it is a must place to spend some time relaxing and loitering around when in Darjeeling. Soak the sun, have a cup of tea and see passersby along the street busy living their Darjeeng life. One can also enjoy horse riding which is available at the Chowrasta.
The Chowrasta is a happening place in Darjeeling with several events also being conducted on the promenade in the open. One can enjoy all of it along with the scenic view surrounding it.

Darjeeling Zoo
Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park, popularly known as the Darjeeling Zoo is the only zoo in India that runs a conservation-breeding program for endangered animals of the Eastern Himalayas and has won several awards for working to protect red pandas, snow leopards, and Tibetan wolves.
If visiting Darjeeling and you are an animal lover then a visit to this zoo must be made. In 1975 when former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi visited the zoo, then she renamed it to its current name to pay tribute to Padmaja Naidu, an Indian freedom fighter.

Darjeeling Ropeway
Started in 1968 by the Darjeeling Forest Department, Darjeeling Ropeway crosses over-dense forests, lush green fields, tea gardens, mountain ridges, waterfalls, and green valleys. It started with just one ropeway car and now boasts of 16 cars running to and fro.
The ropeway experience is a lifetime experience to remember where one can see how beautiful Darjeeling is in the aerial view. The ropeway is operational daily from Monday to Sunday, however, closed on the 19th of every month for maintenance. Ticket booking usually sees a rush and the waiting board to board a cable car during peak season can reach up to 60 minutes thus it is advisable to plan the ropeway ride beforehand.
